DESMONDINDI

In 2002 Niffer Desmond established DesmondIndi as a production company for animated video projects and related works. DesmondIndi launched number of successful animated videos both on its own and with partners from 2002-2004 (See Motion: Projects). Since then the company has expanded in scope, building on Niffer's unique design and animation style to offer interactive design, titles and animated sequences for clients.
The name comes from an early writing alias that disguised Niffer's Celtic last name to one of Indian origin; It also works as an analogue to "Indie" tacked on to her real name. And at DesmondIndi we're all about keeping it real- making original, independant visions into reality.

BIO for NIFFER DESMOND

Niffer makes her multi-disciplinary home in San Francisco. Many mediums pass through her oeuvre; most especially puppetry, miniatures, animation, and effects. She often combines these multiple techniques as in “Fear and Fun with Fish” , her 2003 puppet short confronting food and the internal world.

Niffer holds a BA in Photography from UC Santa Cruz and trained in digital special effects at Pixel Corps. A self taught filmmaker, she has applied her restive talents to interactive children’s software, video slot machines and rock n’ roll videos. In 2004 she was commissioned to make a mini movie for the esoteric band ‘The Residents’ using stop motion puppets. Her movie shorts have screened in festivals around the world. Niffer is currently working as a freelance designer and director, applying her unique visual style to projects in multiple media.
