The second letter comes from Mrs. M. Richards who would like a “granny flat” in the garden for her mother. She asks for a simple self-contained unit consisting of one bedroom cum living room, a modest kitchenette with store cupboards and a table stove. She would also like a little veranda for her mother to sit in the evenings. It’s an excellent idea to construct a compact little home with all facilities within easy reach for your mother. The designer suggests a single bed and side table in the “bedroom” and a screen divider between the bedroom and kitchen. The bed is made of plywood frame with laminate finish and PVC headboard.
